Job Description

Danfoss is growing, and we are looking for a new Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) to join our Turbocor team. Using your strong interpersonal skills, the SQE will oversee supplier quality processes at Danfoss Turbocor, focusing on our global electronics supplier base. The role entails driving process improvements, implementing corrective actions, and ensuring compliance with quality standards for electronic components used in oil-free compressor technology. The SQE will ultimately align supplier practices with Danfoss Turbocor business objectives to drive customer satisfaction and enhance operational efficiency.

This position requires up to 30% travel to supplier sites, both domestic and international.

Job Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

* Supplier PPAP: Manage the supplier PPAP process and communicate quality requirements effectively.

* Supplier Approval: Evaluate and approve suppliers based on their quality management systems and capabilities.

* Collaboration: Lead cross-functional teams to address quality concerns and implement corrective actions between suppliers and internal engineering, operation, and quality teams.

* Supplier development: Drive process enhancements using EMS supplier best practices, including lean methodologies and part/process traceability, to meet evolving customer expectations for operational efficiency and product reliability.

* Data-Driven Practices: Promote data-driven practices among suppliers to enhance process controls, operational efficiency, and transparency.

* Supplier audit: Conduct supplier audits to evaluate compliance with industry standards and requirements.

* Quality documentation: Develop and maintain quality documentation, including inspection plans and specifications.

Background & Skills

Education and Experience:

* Required: BS in Engineering or Quality Assurance, or a related field.

* Experience: A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in quality engineering, supplier quality management, or a related area.

* Preferred: Certification in Quality Management (e.g., Six Sigma, ASQ) is highly desirable.

* Preferred: Experience working with electronic suppliers.

Required Skills and Qualifications

* Strong understanding of quality control methodologies and tools.

* Strong communication skills with a focus on attentiveness and empathy.

* Proficient in statistical analysis and quality data interpretation.

* Detail-oriented, well-organized, focused, and a good executor.

* Proficiency in data analytics.

* Ability to create a positive environment through teamwork and collaboration.

* Interpersonal skills are essential for driving negotiations, resolving conflicts, and fostering effective collaboration.

* Strong understanding of and ability to apply ISO/IATF16949, CQI Assessments, AIAG PPAP, APQP, MSA, SPC and FMEA and other quality system standards and tools.
