Our Engineering Systems team is hiring Software Engineers to help us improve the developer experience for engineers at Snowflake. You will have the opportunity to work with cutting-edge cloud technology and an amazing team as you build, test, deploy and operate the tools and services we create to help Snowflake engineers build the industry-leading AI Data Cloud. At Snowflake, we know having great development tools that are customized to the needs of our engineers is critical to our success. AS A SOFTWARE ENGINEER, YOU WILL:
  • Design and build features, and/or distributed platforms at scale.

  • Drive impactful initiatives for the globally distributed infrastructure

  • Collaborate with product managers, architects, other engineering teams, and business groups, to drive end-to-end solutions.

  • Contribute to improving our engineering processes, tooling, and standards.

OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:
  • 2-5 years' of industry experience designing, building, and supporting large-scale systems in production.

  • Excellent fundamental computer science skills, deep knowledge of algorithms and data structures.

  • Fluency in at least one of these languages Go, C++, Java or Python.

  • Experience with distributed systems and cloud computing

  • Deep multi-faceted appreciation in building end-to-end customer facing products.

  • A passion for building internal engineering systems, or developer productivity tools.

  • BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science or related majors, or equivalent experience.

BONUS POINTS IF YOU HAVE:
  • Experience with SQL.

  • Operating systems - especially Linux.

  • Experience building programming languages, compilers, platform libraries, SDKs, or language run-times.

  • Deep experience working with internal or external developer tools, developer productivity, or engineering systems.

  • Kubernetes and containerization.

  • Experience with multiple cloud providers (AWS, Azure GCP, etc.)

The following represents the expected range of compensation for this role:

  • The estimated base salary range for this role is $157,000 - $230,000.
  • Additionally, this role is eligible to participate in Snowflake's bonus and equity plan.

The successful candidate's starting salary will be determined based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors such as skills, experience, and geographic location. This role is also eligible for a competitive benefits package that includes: medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance; 401(k) retirement plan; flexible spending & health savings account; at least 12 paid holidays; paid time off; parental leave; employee assistance program; and other company benefits.
