The primary responsibility of the Stormwater Business Class Lead will be to provide in-house leadership and guidance as it relates to stormwater services as well as developing and delivering projects for clients related to stormwater work in the Southern California Region. This role is responsible for the overall vision and strategy of the Stormwater team, will function as a supervisor to staff, manage projects and provide production on projects in addition to business development responsibilities. This role is responsible for planning and design of stormwater and hydraulic design elements including, but not limited to:
- Stormwater management facilities;
- Site drainage;
- Storm drain design;
- Green stormwater infrastructure (GSI);
- Best management practices (BMPs) for water quality treatment;
- Low-impact development;
- Watershed planning; and
- Hydrologic and stormwater/drainage modeling.
- Perform other duties as needed
In this role, you will work closely with the project engineers to prepare both planning level and design level projects including drainage reports, and contract/bid documents; and work collaboratively with other design disciplines to provide integrated solutions and business development opportunities. Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree (B.S.) in Engineering, Civil Engineering, Hydraulics, Water Resources, or a related field from an accredited four year college or university.
- CA Registered Professional Engineer License
- Proven business development in the Los Angeles Region, with an understanding of the Measure W Goals
- Experience in conceptual, preliminary and final design of drainage and stormwater
- Experience with Low Impact Development
- Experience with hydrology, hydraulic/drainage design and stormwater facility design software.
- Experience with the design of structural BMPs, including infiltration, bioretention basins, bioswales, green streets, and stormwater vaults
- Knowledge of Southern California water quality regulations and the Total Maximum Daily Load programs
- Experience with supervising staff
- A minimum of four years experience in the preparation of storm water reports and plans, specifications, and estimates in a design lead role
- Preference will be given to local candidates
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a Professional, Architecture, Engineering or closely related field
- 10 years of experience
- Committed to quality, improvement and HDR values
- Maintains a professional or engineering registration and has related technical experience
- Experienced in development and management of diverse teams
- Works cooperatively with other area business class leaders, operations managers, technical directors and marketing managers on business class efforts
