Summary

The Cloud Systems Engineer is an integral part of the Chobani IT Infrastructure team, supporting both cloud and on-premise environments for the business. The role emphasizes expertise in IaaS platforms and Microsoft 365. This position will focus on ensuring system performance, security, and reliability, while collaborating with cross-functional teams to align systems with business requirements.

Responsibilities
  • Design, implement, and manage scalable cloud infrastructure in Microsoft Azure, including Virtual Machines, App Services, and Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS).
  • Develop and manage API integrations, enabling seamless communication between cloud service an applications.
  • Administer and optimize Microsoft 365 services, including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, Teams, and the Power Platform.
  • Managing identities: Azure Entra ID user/group provisioning, hybrid identity setups with Azure AD Connect, and single sign-on (SSO).
  • Ensure robust security and compliance in Azure through proper configuration of Azure AD, Key Vault, NSGs, and Azure Security Center.
  • Configure and maintain cloud-based disaster recovery and backup solutions, such as Azure Backup and Site Recovery.
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize cloud performance using tools like Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Application Insights.
  • Manage and maintain VMware environments, including ESXi hosts, vCenter, and virtualized workloads.
  • Administer and support Windows Server environments, including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and file/print services.
  • Oversee backup and recovery operations for on-premises infrastructure using tools such as Veeam, Commvault, or similar.
  • Monitor and manage storage systems, including SAN, NAS, and direct-attached storage.
  • Perform routine server maintenance, patching, and hardware troubleshooting.
  • Configure and monitor email security protocols (SPF, DKIM, DMARC) and email gateway solutions to protect against phishing and spam.
  • Collaborate with security teams to maintain a Zero Trust Architecture across all systems.
  • Automate repetitive tasks and deployments using PowerShell, Python or other scripting languages.
  • Leverage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, Bicep, or ARM templates for cloud deployments.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure systems meet business requirements.
  • Provide Tier 3 support for escalated incidents related to cloud or on-premises infrastructure.
  • Document configurations, processes, and troubleshooting guides for both cloud and on-premises systems.
Requirements

Required:

  • 5 + years maintaining and operating Microsoft Azure or AWS and Microsoft 365 environments, including administration, automation, and optimization.
  • 5 + years of Windows Server administration, including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy.
  • Proficiency in managing and troubleshooting VMware infrastructure.
  • Experience with backup and recovery tools like Veeam, Commvault, or similar.
  • Solid understanding of networking fundamentals, including VPNs, DNS, and firewalls.
  • Advanced scripting and automation skills using PowerShell or Python
  • Experience configuring and managing email security protocols (SPF, DKIM, DMARC) and hybrid mail flow.
  • Strong knowledge of APIs, including designing, implementing, and managing RESTful and/or GraphQL APIs for seamless integration across cloud services and applications.

Preferred:

  • Familiarity with containerization and AKS (or other Kubernetes solutions).
  • Familiarity with SQL database architectures.
  • Knowledge of storage systems (SAN, NAS) and performance optimization.
  • Experience with monitoring tools (e.g., Azure Monitor, SolarWinds or similar).

Compensation Range:$95,000.00-$142,000.00, plus bonus.
