Position Overview: Drainage Design Leader Our client is seeking a Drainage Design Leader to join their team at the FDOT Corridors Program Office (CPO) in Celebration, FL. This embedded position requires the candidate to be onsite full-time and contribute to the Moving I-4 Forward program, one of the largest and most high-profile transportation projects in Florida. The Drainage Design Leader will provide leadership and technical expertise in the planning, design, and execution of drainage-related tasks and projects. Responsibilities:
Provide professional engineering consultation in the planning, design, and coordination of drainage projects.
Develop and evaluate engineering reports, plans, and specification criteria.
Coordinate with multidisciplinary project teams, including client communication, proposal coordination, and presentations.
Prepare specifications, scaled drawings, proposals, and ensure the approval of materials and construction.
Meet with clients to define project objectives and requirements for the scope of work.
Review junior staff's work for technical accuracy and provide guidance to other professionals and technicians.
Perform quality control reviews, field reviews, and observations of ongoing construction projects.
Lead a discipline team or small multidisciplinary teams to complete projects and manage scope, budgets, and schedules.
Qualifications:
Degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited program with at least 20 years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Professional Engineer (PE) license in good standing.
In-depth knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local codes, criteria, regulations, and ordinances.
Proficiency in production software and construction document production.
Proven ability to make decisions that significantly impact an organization and recommend operational strategies.
Recognized as a thought leader in the industry, with experience leading the development of new services, processes, or standards.
Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with senior leadership.
Strong relationship-building skills with clients, contractors, and team members.
