SUMMARY: Ensures that all incoming telephone calls are answered promptly and politely, and are routed to the appropriate employee or provider, or a message taken with a minimum delay to the caller. During periods of downtime, will provide support and assist with operations tasks as needed for IT Leadership. The individual must have good typing skills, a pleasant attitude and excellent phone demeanor. Must work well under pressure.

QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily. HOURS: 8:30am-5:30pm


Qualifications

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or GED required. Previous multi-line telephone experience recommended. Previous customer service experience a plus.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Essential functions are those tasks, duties and responsibilities that comprise the means of accomplishing the job's purpose and objectives. Essential functions are critical or fundamental to the performance of the job. They are the major functions for which the person in the job is held accountable. Note: (other duties may be assigned, deleted or changed at any time, at the discretion of management, formally, or informally, either verbally or in writing).

1. Handle provider phone calls as quickly as possible, paging the provider when necessary.

2. Respond to any other needs of the caller by answering questions within one's capability. Does not give medical advice over the phone and does not quote prices or issues of business operations questions.

3. Participate in all disaster or emergency drills.

4. May be requested to assist in providing translating services for non-English speaking patients.

5. Set up and maintain office files, record and index using computer applications that include use of electronic mail, word processing, spreadsheet and special databases.

6. Assume duties of PBX lead in their absence.

7. Performs other duties as assigned
