Job Overview

This Engineering Technician is responsible for assisting with the hands-on functional testing, repair, and processing of new products and returned from the field to maximize efficiency and minimize process cycle time. Position is 1st shift, 7:00am - 3:30pm, hybrid with remote days on Monday and Friday, working in the Portsmouth, NH office on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday.

A Day In The Life

Essential Functions:



  • Repair or replace, reconfigure and/or test, and process Hubbell equipment.
  • Train and support contract manufacturers on the test and hardware processes.
  • Use Team Center, Sharepoint, and other applications to verify data, drawings, procedures/etc.
  • Work with Manager MIMT in specifying and developing repair specific processes.
  • Assist in meeting metric objectives associated with warranty and non-warranty repair.


Additional Responsibilities:



  • Assist with company-wide continuous quality improvements by providing recommendations for enhancing related policies, procedures, methods, products, and documentation.
  • Assist where necessary with Reliability and Failure Analysis testing.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Management.

What will help you thrive in this role?

Required:



  • Minimum of a Associates Degree in Electronics or Technical Certificate
  • 2 or more years of equivalent Engineering Technician experience
  • Knowledge of software development tools. i.e. .NET C# etc.
  • Knowledge of databases like SQL.
  • Microsoft tools, Excel, Word, PP
  • Must be detail-oriented and have the ability to multitask
  • IPC-A-610 Certification
  • Trained to IPC-7711/7721 rework and repair standard
  • Course work in computer science and Access data base systems or equivalent experience
  • Must be willing and able to travel ~10% of the time

Responsibility of Equipment or Process:



  • Use of soldering station
  • Use of de-soldering for through-hole and surface mount components.
  • Use of temperature chamber equipment
  • Read and understand assembly drawing and schematics.

  • Normal Office and Laboratory activities
  • Occasional lifting of up to 30 pounds
  • Frequent sitting
  • Moderate walking
  • Frequent standing
