The Grants & Contracts Administrator II is responsible for assisting in the support of grants, contracts, subcontracts from initial application through termination; working with faculty/PIs and Administrative Staff to ensure that grant applications are submitted appropriately.This position has access to and regularly works with information of sensitive and confidential nature.

    Job Responsibilities
    • Support/coordinate management of grants and sponsored programs (e.g., preparation and review of proposal documents including budget, monitoring of subawards, award lifecycle management) more independently.
    • Read, interpret, disseminate and apply federal and other sponsor guidelines and regulatory compliance requirements to support investigators and other relevant teams.
    • Coordinate with members from research teams, sponsor institutions and other teams to facilitate standard issue resolution and escalate as needed.
    • Manage negotiation of standard terms and conditions associated with basic non-industrial sponsored research agreements to ensure consistency with institutional policies.
    • Participate in process improvement initiatives within the team through suggestions and executing assigned tasks.
    • Contribute to the development, preparation, revision, and finalization of project budgets and providing budget justifications.
    • Serve as a liaison between centralized institutional grant and legal offices on behalf of the faculty, Support with the departmental financial approvals and reconciliations.
    • Perform other duties as assigned to meet the goals and objectives of the department and institution.
    • Verify documentation of expenditures are consistent with St. Jude Children's Research Hospital (SJCRH) policies and grant limitations.; manage financial processes for the grants and any associated subcontracts of the grants.
    • Works collaboratively with both internal and external customers of the grants to develop and systematically coordinate financial operations and contracts.
    • Responsible for the development of departmental policies and procedures and staff training related to the processing of all grant records while assisting with general and administrative policies, procedures and training.
    • Coordinate administrative activities and/or special projects as assigned or directed to meet the goals and objectives as they relate to the department.
    • Maintains regular and predictable attendance.

    Minimum Education and/or Training:

    • Bachelor's degree required.

    Minimum Experience:

    • Minimum Requirement: 2+ years of experience in financial administration processes as applicable to grants and sponsored programs.
    • Experience in relevant regulations as applicable to grants and sponsored programs.
    • Some experience coordinating with cross-functional teams.
    • Prior Workday experience strongly preferred.
    • Strong NIH experience highly desired.

    Compensation

    In recognition of certain U.S. state and municipal pay transparency laws, St. Jude is including a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. This is an estimate offered in good faith and a specific salary offer takes into account factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the salary range and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current salary range is $65,520 - $114,400 per year for the role of Grants & Contracts Administrator II.
