Save lives, from the workplace to anyplace. The National Safety Council is America's leading nonprofit safety advocate. We focus on eliminating the leading causes of preventable injuries and deaths. Through leadership, research, education, and advocacy, NSC focuses on areas where most unintentional injuries and deaths occur. We are currently looking for a Director, Work to Zero to join us in our mission to save lives and prevent injuries. Position Highlights: Directs the Work to Zero program, driving strategic planning, stakeholder engagement, research, and knowledge dissemination efforts with a commitment to continuous improvement and excellence. Serves as the primary authority and thought leader on workplace safety technology for the National Safety Council. Leads and challenges the Work to Zero team, fostering a high-performance culture that pushes boundaries, questions assumptions, and strives for the highest standards of quality, technical accuracy, and innovation. Ensures that all workplace products, service offerings, and marketing communications reflect rigor, consistency, and a relentless pursuit of excellence. Continuously seeks to elevate and enhance the Work to Zero work plan, identifying opportunities for innovation and greater impact. Collaborates cross-functionally (marketing, comms, training, consulting, convening, operations, finance) to translate program and product assets into value-added outputs, establish rigorous metrics and standards, and ensure programs meet and exceed their goals. Additionally, the Director, Work to Zero may serve as an expert resource on broader workplace safety issues aligned with the National Safety Council's mission and vision.
