Position Type: Full-Time Class Category Faculty Job Open Date 03/24/2025 Job Close Date 04/22/2025 Open Until Filled Yes Initial Screen Date: Minimal Qualifications: Master's Degree in History or master's degree in a related field with at least 18 graduate hours in the field of instruction. Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Two years of teaching experience using interactive teaching techniques. Ability and background to teach United States, Western Civilization, African American history and Women's history courses. Experience using assessment techniques to promote teaching and learning excellence. Demonstrated experience with current pedagogical and instructional methods. Demonstrated experience with utilizing a variety of classroom technologies, both inside and outside the classroom. Demonstrated ability to work and communicate effectively with all constituencies of a diverse community. Familiarity with understanding the unique challenges students face on an urban campus in a metropolitan city. Demonstrate your experiences with teaching students who are impacted by outside barriers, ie, economic insecurities, inadequate preparedness Demonstrated interest in and passion for teaching community college students. Ability to work well with others. Strong oral and written communication skills. Ability to use information technology for professional productivity (such as Microsoft Office Suite). Work Hours Normally scheduled Monday through Friday; may be required to work different shifts to include evenings and/or weekends. Schedule subject to change based upon department needs. Compensation Salary is commensurate with education and experience. Preferred Areas of Expertise: 6-9 hours in African American History 6-9 hours in Women's Studies 6-9 hours in World History or Western Civilization
