Job Description

Amcor is currently searching for individuals to join our Asheville plant! Current openings include Pouch Operator and Slitter Operator (see details below).

SHIFTS AVAILABLE:

Monday - Thursday night shift

POUCH OPERATOR OVERVIEW:

Operate pouching machines by loading slit rolls onto machine to create pouches in various dimensions according to customer standards.

SLITTER OPERATOR OVERVIEW:
Operate slitting equipment to produce high-quality products that meet customer specifications.

WHAT YOU GET TO DO

  • Set up, operate, and maintain machines to meet quality and productivity standards.
  • Inspect products, ensure they meet customer specifications, and maintain accurate documentation.
  • Perform and record required testing, print/apply labels, and post production data.
  • Perform packing, material handling, and core-cutting tasks.
  • Follow safety rules, maintain housekeeping standards, and adapt to changes and new tasks.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement and teamwork initiatives.

WHAT WE WANT FROM YOU

  • Two years of operating experience preferred.
  • Mechanical aptitude and proficiency with rulers, gauges, and calipers.
  • Effective communication skills, teamwork abilities, and self-reliance for independent decision-making.
  • Forklift certification or willingness to obtain it.
  • Proficiency with computers and a willingness to learn additional programs.
  • Visual acuity to identify imperfections and deviations from specifications.
  • Knowledge of safety precautions and ability to operate tools and equipment safely.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Lift cartons up to 50 lbs and assist with lifting 90+ lbs shaft/core combinations using a hoist system.
  • Stand for extended periods and perform tasks like climbing, crouching, and reaching.
