West Virginia University is seeking a Neurosurgical Senior Research Scientist that supports clinical research at the Rockefeller Neuroscience Institute.

About the Opportunity

The Senior Research Scientist will advance clinical research at the RNI. The specialist should be a licensable neurosurgeon in the State of West Virginia that can carry out clinical trial protocols under the supervision of a principal investigator on faculty at the RNI.

What You'll Do

Perform duties and procedures described in clinical research protocols which may include medication prescription, application of stereotactic frames, general neurosurgical procedures, as well as specialized neurosurgical procedures related to research protocols such as low or high intensity ultrasound.

Participate in the writing, conduct, administration, data analysis and reporting of clinical research. Oversee nursing and resident/fellow participation in various clinical research projects.


Qualifications

  • PhD or MD in Neurosurgery
  • A minimum of ten (10) years of experience working in Neurosurgery, Neurology and Neuroscience.
  • All qualifications must be met by the time of employment.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities



  • Understanding of research methodologies
  • Skill with neurosurgical procedures related to research protocols
  • Ability to use data analysis and writing skills for reporting of clinical research
