Senior Bacterial Core Technician

Culmen International is looking for a Senior Bacterial Core Technician to support a USAMRIID program at Fort Detrick, MD.

The Senior Bacterial Core Technician supports laboratory operations, manages biological materials, and performs assays in support of studies on vaccines, diagnostics, and therapeutics targeting bacterial threat agents.

Perform bacterial culture, assay preparation, and specimen handling.
• Maintain laboratory equipment and inventory.
• Support GLP-compliant data collection and analysis.
• Assist in high-containment operations (BSL-2/3).
• Prepare technical documentation and contribute to SOPs.

• Bachelor's degree in biology, microbiology, or related field OR Associate degree with significant laboratory experience may be considered.
• 5+ years in a laboratory research setting.
• Expertise in laboratory safety and aseptic techniques.
• Proficiency in biological assay procedures (ELISA, PCR).
• Experience working in biocontainment environments.
• Ability to manage sample tracking and recordkeeping.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance and enroll in the Personnel Reliability Program (PRP), if required.
