The Department of Pediatrics at West Virginia University Research Corporation is currently accepting applications for a (Remote) Part-time Asthma Program Coordinator position with the School of Medicine.

About the Opportunity

The coordinator will be responsible for project development, planning, and implementation of new and expanded programs with the Asthma Program. Provides programmatic support to the individual executives and the programs they create, manage, and oversee. Independently performs a wide range of administrative duties, support, and coordination of projects in a rapidly changing environment. Responsible and accountable for the coordinated management of front-end operations at multiple sites following strategic business and other organizational objectives. The position supports the development and implementation of strategic initiatives by assisting with the creation of comprehensive program plans for key organizational initiatives as well as revisions to current programs.

What You'll Do



  • Provides project management coordination and support for projects and their activities including but not limited to determining the plan schedule of deadlines and project completion, developing action plans, and coordinates the implementation and completion in collaboration with appropriate internal and external parties.
  • Analyze data and present solutions in coordination with physicians and staff to inform continuous improvement.
  • Establish effective working relationships with members of the hospital system, especially provider, nursing, and asthma education staff.
  • Participates in/on a variety of meetings, committees, task forces, and/or related groups.
  • Participate in required program calls and national conferences.
  • Serve as educational resource on quality improvement for internal and external audiences by developing educational materials and delivering presentations.
  • Coordinate data from various sources such as, but not limited to, quality control and patient safety to present in a meaningful format.
  • Work with leadership teams to inform performance improvement priorities and goal setting.


Work Hours: 10 Hours per week

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a business or health care related field; OR
    Associate's degree in health care related field and three (3) years of professional experience in a healthcare setting.
    Master's Degree in Public Health, Healthcare Administration, or related field preferred.
  • A minimum of two (2) years of experience in the following:

    • Healthcare or business setting.


  • Any equivalent combination of related education and/or experience will be considered.
  • All qualifications must be met by the time of employment.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities



  • Proficient in curriculum design, program administration, evaluation, and instruction.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications to include Word, Excel, & Powerpoint.
  • Ability to build credibility, trust, and rapport with stakeholders on all levels, both within and outside the organization.
  • Skill in organizational matters, including time management, prioritization, multitasking, and problem-solving.
  • Knowledge of clinic policies and procedures.


Preferred Qualifications



  • Experience in a large organization.
  • Experience in a hospital environment.
  • Epic EHR software experience.
  • Experience in managing multiple priorities or assignments and adhere to stringent deadlines.

  • WV Licensed Registered Respiratory Therapist
