Head of Shared Services Center North America (Expat Assignment Possible)

Role description:
We are a leading global Security Technology company, pivotal in shaping industry standards, actively searching for a dynamic and experienced leader to join our team as the Head of the newly established Shared Services Center for North America.
This critical role will oversee the creation, integration, and alignment of existing business support functions - transactional HR Services, Legal Services, indirect Procurement, and Accounting - under one organizational umbrella. Additionally, the structure is designed to be flexible, allowing for the integration of additional functions as business needs evolve. Responsible for managing a dedicated team of 50 to 70 professionals, this position is key in supporting multiple legal entities across the strategically important regions of the USA and Canada. This is an exceptional opportunity to drive impactful changes and lead a significant operation within a globally recognized organization.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the management of a cross-functional, international organization and teams. The role requires excellent problem-solving skills, strong leadership abilities, and substantial experience in change management. The main target is to handle and unite all regional stakeholders to ensure the newly established organization supports the overall goals in the region in a stable manner. Central to this role responsibilities will include overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Shared Service Center, establishing new structures and processes, and achieving agreed-upon cost efficiency targets. Furthermore, this role offers the exciting opportunity of managing impactful projects and fostering close collaborations with all key functions within the G+D group.

  • Lead and define the strategic direction for the Shared Services Center in North America
  • Manage functional and disciplinary lines in a matrix organization, encompassing various heads of departments
  • Deliver high-quality, cost-effective support services that align with company objectives
  • Cultivate a culture of continuous improvement, adopting best practices and innovative solutions to boost service efficiency
  • Oversee the budget for shared services to optimize resource utilization
  • Collaborate with global counterparts to ensure consistent policies and procedures
  • Lead change management efforts to elevate operational capabilities
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field; Master's degree or MBA is preferred
  • A minimum of 10 years of professional experience, including at least 5 years in leadership within a cross-functional and multinational matrix organization
  • Demonstrated leadership and organizational skills with the capability to motivate and inspire a diverse team
  • Proven change management expertise and experience managing significant organizational projects
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, adept at engaging with senior stakeholders and forging robust partnerships
  • Experience in budget management and operational efficiency enhancement
  • Willingness to travel up to 25%

There is only one Head of Shared Services Center North America. This person may be located in either Dulles, Virginia or Markham, Ontario.
