In this part-time MPRA Naval Flight Officer (NFO) Subject Matter Expert (SME) role, you will be a training expert for operator manuals (baseline and FMS) and provide technical expertise on the latest software and hardware improvements in support of software development, integration, and test (baseline and FMS).

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Analyzing data to develop training materials that emphasize the differences between software and hardware for fleet releases for the Naval Aviation Technical Information Product (NATIP)
  • Preparing training materials to be presented at regularly scheduled positional training meetings.
  • Generating content as a technical writer and subject matter expert to keep the permanent flight clearance up to date for FMS deliveries
  • Performing onsite testing and training support (operator and trainer) as required
  • Coordinating with the Fleet (MPRWS) and DT/OT testers on current and future capabilities
  • Reviewing defects and provides solutions for system
  • Reviewing software design documents for accuracy
  • Developing applicable mission systems software test plans, test cases, test procedures, and test reports
  • Providing hands-on testing of P-8A baseline and FMS software on the Integration Lines, Software Development Lines (SDLs), and Weapon System Integration Lab (WSIL)
  • Writing technical reports and status reports, and bulletins for use by test and training staff, management, and government customers
  • These tasks are not all inclusive; additional duties may be required by the government customer

Requirements

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related scientific disciplineA minimum of 8 years MPRA operational experience, required
  • At least ten (10) years of recent and relevant technical experience in an engineering position, to include a comprehensive knowledge of specific system(s), required
  • Must be experienced in all facets of ASW, ASUW, and COORD OPS along with associated tactics
  • Experience in MPRA fleet operations strongly preferred
  • Instructor NFO NATOPS instructor/evaluator, preferred
  • MPRWS Instructor/WTI, preferred

  • This position requires U.S. citizenship and an active DoD Secret (OR) Top Secret clearance. Selected candidate will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

Salary Range:
