Georgia-Pacific is currently seeking a Production Assistant at our Corrugated facility in Phoenix, AZ!

Salary: $23.50/hr.

Shift Hours:

  • 1st shift (6 AM - 2PM)
  • Must be flexible overtime, holidays, and weekends as needed.

Physical Location: 1515 South 91st Avenue, Phoenix, AZ 85353

Our Team

The successful candidate will train on and support our state-of-the-art roll to roll inkjet web press, and its ancillary equipment which is the first of its kind in the United States.

What You Will Do

  • Continual computer (PC) interaction to operate the press, record quality metrics, and email communications as needed.
  • Performing computer/machine adjustments accurately, efficiently, and according to procedures, minimizing unexpected downtime and maintenance calls.
  • Performing routine preventative maintenance and troubleshooting any problems.
  • Interact daily with the Press and Shipping supervisor for your responsibilities assigned to ensure smooth operation of overall department.
  • Assist with operational tasks on the editor
  • Edit roll stock from the Digital Print Press daily as needed.
  • Accurately log roll stock in and out of operating system for editing needs.
  • Operate the core cutter and supply cut cores for the Digital Print Press
  • Slit paper rolls for the Digital Print Press on the editor.
  • Assist in retrieving rolls from Digital Print Press and Editor to store in for shipping to customer.
  • Ensure that the quantity of rolls meet expectations and accuracy for shipments.
  • Assist with Hogging and Baling of paper scrap and recycling.
  • Manage of current ink supply for the press, pumping and filling ink tanks
  • Assist with managing sufficient roll stock inventory.
  • All team members are to be actively involved with our safety culture and guidelines.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment and troubleshooting machine and quality issues
  • Experience using Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Experience working in paper converting
  • Experience with web-based software applications
  • Experience in corrugated packaging, folding carton, printing, or Point of Purchase (POP) display industries.
  • Experience with reliability and Preventative Maintenance (PM) systems
