Position Summary

Applies professional-level technical skill and judgment to provide non-routine technical support for computer/data center operations. Installs, configures and troubleshoots server and non-desktop computer hardware, software, systems and other resources in a data center or other centralized computer network setting. Maintains access control, data integrity and file system security for the computer/data center environment. Monitors, tracks and records system performance and utilization metrics. Communicates highly technical information to both technical and nontechnical personnel. Recommends process, hardware and software solutions, including new acquisitions and upgrades, to improve computer/data center efficiency. May participate in development of information technology and infrastructure projects. May be internal or external, client-focused, working in conjunction with Professional Services and outsourcing functions. May include company-wide, web-enabled solutions.

Qualifications

Job Functions:

  • Implement, upgrade, and maintain the VMWare vCenter and ESXi infrastructure

  • Maintain and troubleshoot Windows server systems at SGs various gaming datacenter locations and remote sites

  • Perform installation, upgrades, patches, and security remediation of Windows servers systems

  • Develop, manage, and monitor backup and replication strategies

  • Perform daily\weekly analysis on data center server infrastructure

  • Develop disaster recovery plan and perform routine testing

  • Create diagnostic scripts to gather troubleshooting information

  • Create automation scripts to automate routine tasks

  • Create Visio diagrams and documentation of complex deployments

  • Provide mentoring and training to the rest of the systems engineering team

  • Work with internal audit to maintain compliance of system for all regulated requirements

  • Provide root cause analysis of major failures to management team

  • Adhere to compliance requirements

  • Perform periodic scans of infrastructure for vulnerabilities

  • Develop and implement security solutions to protect the organization's information systems and data

  • Work closely with other IT and security professionals, such as network administrators, software developers, and information security analysts, to ensure the integration of security into all aspects of the organization's systems and operations.

Additional Job Functions:

  • Conduct risk assessments: Evaluate the organization's systems to identify vulnerabilities and potential security risks

  • Monitor security systems: Monitor security systems to detect and respond to security incidents

  • Respond to security incidents: Respond to security incidents, such as data breaches or cyber-attacks, and take appropriate actions to contain and resolve the incident

  • Stay current with security trends: Stay current with emerging security trends, technologies, and threats and make recommendations for improving the organization's security posture

Skills:

  • Extensive knowledge of Windows operating systems and technologies such as WMI, Active Directory, DNS, and MS clustering

  • Intermediate level PowerShell or another scripting language

  • Intermediate SQL query concepts

  • Strong knowledge of VMWare virtualization technologies

  • Automation principles and the desire to improve the efficiency of daily operations

  • Advanced knowledge of High Availability & DR concepts

  • Experience troubleshooting Windows OS

  • Experience developing policies and procedures for systems

  • Strong knowledge of SAN technologies and administration (3Par.NetApp,Pure,FC/iSCSI)

  • Experience with system management tools such as Solarwinds, WSUS, Zerto, Crowdstrike, Tanium, VMWare

  • Familiarity with AWS

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain required gaming cards and licensing upon employment

  • Have the ability to work in a fast paced, high volume and stressful environment

  • Available for on-call

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
