Title: Aerospace Quality Engineer

Location: Irvine, CA , 92618
Pay Rate: $55/hr to $60/hr
Shift Timing: (M - F / Any / 7 Days): 1st Shift (8 am to 5pm)
Duration: 6 Months Contract to hire

Job Description:

  • Primary role is to update and manage approved process supplier database. Ensure suppliers have updated credentials such as NADCAP and ISO9001. Ensures projects meet schedule commitments and technical expectations through effective leadership.
  • Manage associated Excel spreadsheets that track suppliers audit dates and audit requirements, ensuring they are current and up to date.
  • Maintains frequent formal and informal supplier interface to resolve any issues related to accreditation to industry standards.
  • Generate timelines and tracking tools to help monitor and maintain progress, and report out to manager on a consistent basis.


Role & Responsibilities:

  • Has good knowledge of engineering principles, concepts, product standards, and techniques, industry practices, regulations, and policies. Ability to apply broad knowledge of other related engineering or scientific field to area of expertise.
  • Ability to quickly learn use various software packages and applications. Ensures consistent engineering standards, processes, and documentation methods are used in project deliverables. Establishes and maintains engineering history files, project files, and related information to provide archive of technical project activities.
  • Ability to investigate and help suppliers navigate requirements and flow-down necessary to do business. Ability to utilize analysis tools.
  • Acts as point of contact on technical and project-related matters. May serve as a functional specialist, with the ability to apply standard practices and techniques in specific situations, adjust and correlate data, recognize discrepancies in results, define and follow operations through a series of related detailed steps or processes.
  • Works closely with outside suppliers (and supply chain internally) to resolve technical issues with vendor supplied parts.
  • Ability to coordinate between multiple technical disciplines to solve engineering problems. Ability to work with general objectives regarding projects and team goals; applies judgment in selecting procedures and techniques that should be applied. Works collaboratively in a team environment.
  • The ideal candidate would have a good working knowledge of aerospace engineering specifications and the ability to review specifications and technical requirements, and how these are flowed down to process suppliers. Understands basic concepts of materials and processes as applied to aerospace grade quality parts.


Education /Qualification:

  • Bachelors Degree with 10 years of Relevant Experience.
