The Payroll Operations Analyst is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely end to end payroll administration in a multi-state and multi-company global environment. This role involves analyzing data, researching and resolving complex payroll issues, providing support, and ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations and company policies. Because this role involves access to confidential financial information, the Company has determined that a review of criminal history is necessary to protect the business and its operations and reputation and to provide similar protections for its clients and potential investments. CORE RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS
- Responsible for ensuring accurate and timely payroll administration in accordance with all federal, state, and local regulations and tax standards, bargaining agreements, and company policies. Calculate and process complex and high-visibility transactions including multi-state taxation adjustments, incentive taxation, retroactive adjustments, year-end tax reconciliations, and unique equity payouts.
- Maintain accurate payroll records. Analyze and audit daily error reports to identify corrections to employee records. Communicate changes to business owners of upstream and downstream systems as well as proper tax and location assignment in the HCM and payroll systems.
- Research and analyze complex payroll issues including reconciliations, overpayments, taxation and adjustments. Provide technical payroll processing, calculation, and consulting expertise on business and technology issues that impact how/when employees are paid. Communicate research and analysis results to a wide variety of audiences including senior leaders, associates, and external agencies and vendors.
- Build reports, analyze complex data sets and provide insights to stakeholders to inform business decisions and payroll operational efficiency. This involves using critical thinking skills and independent judgement to audit, identify and resolve issues in the data that may have a downstream impact on payroll. Participate in periodic internal auditing of key responsibilities.
- Partner directly with both internal and external stakeholders providing excellent customer service in troubleshooting and resolving issues. Maintain SLAs for escalated ServiceNow cases. Build and nurture strong working relationships with all levels across the organization and 3rd party providers. Designated SPOC and SME for assigned functions.
- Identify areas for process improvements. Support with the implementation of process improvement initiatives. Work with cross functional team within the Payroll Operations department and complete other duties as assigned.

- CPP Certification, bachelor's degree in accounting/finance or related business administration
KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE: Required:
- 3+ years of Payroll experience in multi-state in high volume environment Required
- Advanced data auditing and analysis skills.
- Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills - Pivot tables, VLOOKUP's
- In-depth understanding of payroll laws, tax regulations, and accounting principles.
- Proficiency in payroll software and systems, including experience with advanced features.
- Exceptional attention to detail to ensure accuracy in payroll calculations.
- Effective communication skills to liaise with various departments and handle employee inquiries.
- Ability to analyze complex payroll issues and develop solutions.
- Commitment to maintaining the confidentiality of sensitive payroll information.
Preferred:
- Project management experience
- Ceridian Dayforce system experience
- Additional language skills would be an advantage
- Experience working for a global and diverse company
TECHNICAL/SKILL REQUIREMENTS: Required:
- A demonstrated understanding of all aspects of payroll processes and related systems; including, but not limited to, benefits, taxes, and time and attendance collection.
- The ability to review regulatory publications, understand technical terminology and easily determine the effect pending and/or newly enacted legislation will have on current Department procedures.
