Description
Medica is a non-profit health insurance company headquartered in Minnetonka with offices in Madison and Omaha. The company is active across the heart of America and provides healthcare coverage in multiple markets. Medica is engaged in our communities through the charitable grant-making work of the Medica Foundation and active employee giving and volunteer programs. Medica will host a 12-week, paid Internship Program. Interns will have the opportunity to network within Medica and with other Interns through weekly Lunch-and-Learns and opportunities to hear from Executives. We strive to offer a well-rounded education of the inner workings of a health plan. Department Introduction: The Enterprise Sourcing & Procurement Team at Medica works to optimize cost, ensure quality, and drive value in third-party vendor relationships, while also mitigating risk and enabling continuous improvement. This team manages across end-to-end procurement lifecycle, including demand management, strategic sourcing, category management, vendor contracting and negotiations, vendor management (both risk and performance), and connections to payment. Work Expectations:
These tasks are designed to provide the intern with a comprehensive understanding of procurement operations and help develop skills that are essential for a career in sourcing and vendor management. This role is in office in Minnetonka 3+ days per week. Qualifications:
