T&V Specialist (Mid-Level)

Summary:

The T&V Specialist (Mid-Level) is responsible for conducting testing and validation processes to ensure the accuracy, functionality, and quality of systems, data, and content across both internal platforms and public-facing websites. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to support operational goals and maintain high-quality standards.

Essential Job Functions:

• Develop and execute comprehensive testing plans to validate the functionality, performance, and security of the RBSDB and related systems.
• Perform thorough testing and validation of data entries to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance with organizational standards.
• Conduct functional and usability testing for content and features on uscgboating.org and www.safeafloat.com, ensuring high-quality user experience.
• Identify, document, and track issues or defects, collaborating with technical teams to resolve them in a timely manner.
• Monitor and validate system and website updates to ensure successful implementation and minimal disruption.
• Assist in maintaining testing and validation documentation, ensuring traceability and compliance with operational requirements.
• Provide regular progress reports and insights to project managers and stakeholders.
• Collaborate closely with database administrators, developers, and content teams to support ongoing testing and validation efforts.

Necessary Skills and Knowledge:

• Strong analytical skills with attention to detail in testing and issue resolution.
• Knowledge of quality assurance best practices and testing methodologies.
• Proficiency in testing tools, including manual and automated testing frameworks.
• Familiarity with database systems and content management platforms.
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
• Knowledge of or interest in recreational boating safety (preferred but not required).

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Proven experience in testing and validation of database systems and/or websites.
• Familiarity with testing tools, defect tracking systems, and test automation frameworks.
• Experience working on government or safety-related projects is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in government or regulatory environments.
• Knowledge of recreational boating safety programs or similar domains.
• Understanding of accessibility standards for public-facing websites.
• Experience collaborating with stakeholders from diverse backgrounds.

Pay and Benefits

The hourly pay rate for this position is $21.30.
