SUMMARY DESCRIPTION: The primary duties of the General Manager (GM) will be to oversee and direct the day-to-day revenue producing activities of the Phoenix International Holdings, Inc. (Phoenix) regional office in Largo, MD. Direct responsibilities include regional profit and loss (P&L), personnel, safety, operations, engineering, and marketing/sales. The GM will be an integral member of the Phoenix management team and will report directly to the Vice President - Corporate.
CLASSIFICATION: EXEMPT (SALARIED)
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Achieves annual profit and revenue objectives for the Largo regional operations, engineering, and sales departments that support company-wide strategic initiatives.
- Develops and executes a regional growth strategy to strengthen and expand current government work, subsea engineering, and deepwater ROV and AUV capabilities.
- Manages the regional sales and marketing program, with the goal of maximizing utilization of company assets, increasing market share, and expanding into new markets consistent with company vision, mission, and capabilities.
- Provides direct supervision for department heads responsible for all revenue producing activities conducted from the Largo facility.
- Provides management oversight and monitoring of the Phoenix Safety Program within the Largo facility.
- Ensures compliance with Phoenix's quality management system (QMS) and ISO 9001 certification standards.
- Ensures compliance with all local, state, and federal laws and regulations.
- Develops the regional annual operating budget and works with other General and Area Managers to ensure that the overall budget is in line with Phoenix's strategic plan.
- Executes the strategies required to achieve regional financial objectives.
- Actively seeks ways to measure and improve company performance for internal and external customers.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum ten years of experience in business management, including five years as a manager with P&L responsibility. Experience working in a continual improvement environment is a plus.
- Strong background and extensive experience working in the Government or as a Government contractor. Experience with marine operations involving diving, ROV, and AUVs.
- Experience managing and growing an engineering design/build group that provides services to Government and commercial organizations.
- Bachelor's degree in business or engineering, or equivalent experience.
- Proven track record in managing a profitable business unit. Command experience in a military or government organization is an acceptable substitute for this requirement.
- A demonstrated ability to process situations quickly and accurately to determine the best course of action for the organization.
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills, and a demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in the use of computers and Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint software.
