We offer a hybrid schedule (in-office & remote/work from home) or an onsite schedule and flexible hours. Candidates will need to reside near Charleston, SC to ensure work site flexibility.

Position Description:
The Compliance and Legal Specialist will assist with administrative duties within the Legal and Compliance Department, assisting in FOIA reviews and responses to subpoenas and implementing the Compliance Program. Will conduct Compliance Communication and Monitoring activities including maintenance of PolicyTech and auditing and investigating through Compliance Validations and Reviews. Additionally, provides administrative support and assistance to the General Counsel and Compliance Officer.

Essential Functions

Serves as system administrator for PolicyTech Administration

Drafts company- wide communications related to the Compliance Program and related efforts and impacts at the direction of the Compliance Officer

Identifies and documents Compliance and Legal Department improvements and identifies opportunities for continual departmental improvements

Assists Compliance Team in analyzing root cause of issues that are raised for compliance and/or legal awareness and advice or action

Coordinates and/or drafts and updates corporate policies at the direction of company leadershipand/or Compliance Officer and Corporate Counsel

Drafts compliance company-wide and targeted training and other presentations as directed.

Coordinates with Corporate Counsel to provide guidance to business divisions and programs

Maintains outside counsel retainer and contact information

Researches and prepares reports on unique legal issues which impact the Company

Maintains trademark and service mark library in coordination with outside counsel

Coordinates new and renewal trademark and service mark application and interact with outside counsel at the direction of General Counsel

Conducts initial review and processing of any FOIA requests, working with the Legal Department to finalize responses

Collaborates with cross functional stakeholders to support the continuous improvement of the Legal and Compliance processes

Supports ATI, Legal and Compliance Program events and other strategic efforts

Assists with the upkeep of the Legal and Compliance SharePoint, OneNote, wiki sites, and/or other programs utilized within Legal and Compliance and data and file management for Legal and Compliance

Prepares and processes ePRs for the Legal and Compliance Departments

Additional Responsibilities:


Performs all other duties as assigned by the General Counsel and Compliance Officer

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree and four years related experience, or an Associate's Degree and sixyears related experience, or High School and eight years of related experience.
  • Paralegal Certificate or equivalent training and experience preferredor willingness to obtain Paralegal Certificate
  • Certified Compliance and Ethics Professional (CCEP) preferred or ability to obtain CCEP
  • Experience as a paralegal or law clerk or a similar role in either a law firm or corporate legal department
  • Experience in the federal contracting industry and familiarity with rules and regulations related to federal procurement
  • Experience supporting a corporate compliance program
  • Significant legal and compliance research and writing experience
  • Advanced capabilities and experience in Microsoft suite of products and in legal research/FOIA
  • Must be a U.S. citizen by birth or naturalization, or a green card lawful U.S. permanent resident, or a political asylum in the U.S. Individual must meet the definition of a U.S. person upon hire due to the risk assessment of this position.
  • Must successfully pass a background check to access sensitive information and automated systems.
  • This position is subject to a background check that includes a review of criminal records. Anticipated salary is in range commensurate with education and experience:
$68,000 to $72,000
