Summary

The Quality Manager for AITX's Repair Services has the responsibility to contribute to AITX's success through developing and implementing programs to establish and maintain quality standards of new and existing services, as well as developing programs to focus employees on quality improvement. This position will work to align and ensure compliance to all federal and AAR regulatory requirements and assure that our Repair Networks align with the AITX Quality Program and train personnel to such requirements and verify the effectiveness thereof.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Plans, develops, enhances, and maintains a Quality Management System providing continuous improvements to all work performed by the organization to meet or exceed customer requirements/specifications.
  • Manages time, money, and resources available to efficiently respond to any requirement related to the quality of the system or product in a prioritized, quantifiable manner.
  • Self-Starter and ability to manage time to achieve set goals.
  • Provides departmental and company leadership promoting the use of key management principles, supervision of repair Quality Responsible personnel and others related to the quality department function.
  • Assumes responsibility as the Quality Management Representative, monitoring and managing the AITX Quality Management System (QMS).
  • Supports the Director of Quality in facilitating the QMS Management Review meetings.
  • Formulates and maintains quality objectives coordinated with the business, product, and customer expectations in mind.
  • Directs and facilitates the collection and analysis of data for Quality Metrics.
  • Works with appropriate manufacturing and supplier personnel to resolve/prevent discrepancies.
  • Performs and/or facilitates pilot runs of new or revised activities.
  • Works with other departments to exchange quality information.
  • Communicates to organization in necessary formats to convey quality information to required parties.
  • Monitors deviations/non-compliance and correction/preventative action systems.
  • Participates in meetings and provides training as required, both virtually and in-person/hands on.
  • Performs Yearly Internal Audits for all Repair locations and supports the Quality Manager for Mobile Operations in performing internal audits of Mobile Operations.

Requirements/Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Quality, Operations, Manufacturing Engineering, or other related field or equivalent experience to obtain required knowledge base is preferred.
  • 5+ years' relevant experience in Quality Operations, experience with Mobile Repair Operations a plus.
  • Weld experience and knowledge of welding processes a plus.
  • Current or previous certification in NDT disciplines a plus.
  • Must be able to obtain AAR Basic and Advanced Auditor training within (1) year of joining the team.
  • Direct experience with a quality program and/or quality related responsibilities.
  • Direct experience in team facilitation and group leadership.
  • Previous supervisory or management experience, skills and responsibility is required.
  • Must be able to demonstrate good interpersonal skills; ability to work with others efficiently and effectively both one-on-one and as a part of a group/team.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat required.
  • Experience in resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments.
  • Willingness to travel by car or plane.
