Lead Operating Room Assistant BWH

Responsible for overseeing and coordinating the daily activities within the Operating Room (O.R.) to ensure efficient and smooth operations.
Essential Functions
- Provide leadership and guidance to the O.R.
- Assistant team, including training, scheduling, and performance management.
- Assign tasks and responsibilities to team members, ensuring proper coverage and efficient workflow.
- Foster a positive and collaborative team environment, promoting teamwork and professional growth.
- Assist with patient preparation for surgical procedures, including proper positioning, prepping, and draping.
- Ensure that all necessary equipment, supplies, and instruments are available and properly set up for each procedure.
- Collaborate with nursing and surgical teams to ensure timely and accurate patient information and documentation.

Education
High School Diploma or Equivalent required

Experience
Experience as an O.R. assistant or in a similar role within a surgical setting. 3-5 years required

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Comprehensive knowledge of surgical procedures, instruments, and sterile techniques.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and adapt in a fast-paced O.R. environment.
- Knowledge of infection control protocols and regulatory requirements.
- Proficiency in using medical equipment and computer systems relevant to O.R. operations.
- CPR certification may be required.
