The Role -

Amphenol Aerospace Operations is seeking a Help Desk Technician to work out of its state-of-the-art facility in Sidney, NY.

As a member of the Network and Operations group, the Help Desk Technician is responsible for the administration of the help desk system so as to provide user support and customer service on company supported applications and platforms. This position will troubleshoot problems as a Level 1 support response and advise on appropriate actions for resolution or advancing to Level 2 technical support. The main philosophical goal of the Help Desk Technician is to maintain an excellent rapport so that customer value is maintained to the standards set forth by the department and company.

The key responsibilities of the Help Desk Technician include, but are not limited to:



  • Respond to requests for technical assistance in person, by phone or electronically
  • Follow standard help desk procedures
  • Advise users on appropriate actions to resolve issues
  • Identify and properly escalate situations requiring urgent or more technical attention
  • Redirect problems to appropriate resources
  • Inform management of recurring or ongoing problems
  • Ensure proper recording, tracking, documenting and closure of help desk tickets
  • Work with technical team to support Help Desk System
  • Research questions using available resources
  • Backup to the AS400 Operator for archiving and tape rotation from backup procedures


Salary: $50,000 - $60,000

    • 30 Minute Drive from Binghamton, NY
    • 20 Minute Drive from Oneonta, NY




The Person -

The key skills and qualities of a Help Desk Technician at Amphenol Aerospace Operations:



  • 3 - 5 years' experience working with Windows, Active Directory, MS Exchange, Phone Systems
  • Working knowledge of networked systems and security
  • Demonstrated experience of managing backup processes exercising best practices for media rotation and storage
  • Demonstrated knowledge of configuration and management of mobile devices
  • Working knowledge of fundamental operations of relevant software, hardware and other equipment
  • Problem analysis and solving
  • Team interaction
  • Planning and organizing
  • Working knowledge of fundamental operations of relevant software, hardware and other equipment
  • Customer service orientation
  • Ability to prioritize and balance multiple tasks within a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with experience training users
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective, courteous and professional relationships with team members and users
  • Primary requirements of the position require sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in an office setting
  • Ability to stand or sit for prolonged period of time
  • Lift and carry light amount of weight
