Main Responsibilities

Financial Management

  • Responsible for administration, budgeting, forecasting, and financial accounting for the region to include ensuring job cost integrity
  • Manage monthly close process meeting tight deadlines and reporting requirements
  • Prepare, review, and analyze monthly financial reports to ensure integrity is maintained, e.g., inventories, accounts receivable, etc.
  • Review operating costs and propose potential areas of cost reduction
  • Analyze detailed job revenue, cost, and accrual information
  • Monitor and oversee accounts receivables
  • Assist in preparation and organization of construction backlog reports

Internal Controls and Compliance

  • Coordinate and maintain proper internal control structure for the region
  • Implement policies and procedures developed at the regional and corporate levels
  • Embrace the company's safety culture, actively support all safety initiatives, and adhere to defined accountabilities implemented by the safety steering and continuous improvement teams.
  • Participate in external and internal audits

Communication and Collaboration

  • Communicate financial and administrative issues with management, including the Corporate Controller, Chief Financial Officer, and President
  • Work with operations to ensure proper flow of accounting information
  • analyze and assimilate potential acquisitions regarding accounting and administrative issues
  • Make recommendations to management regarding strategies, objectives, and policies for the company.

Leadership and Supervisor

  • Support, promote, and practice Reeves core values, vision, and mission; follow code of ethics, workplace conduct, safety, and other established policies
  • Supervise financial staff, including hiring, training, and evaluation
  • Directly responsible to the Regional Manager; maintain close interactions with and be indirectly responsible to the Corporate Controller and Chief Financial Officer.
Skills
  • Proven working experience as a Financial Controller in a related industry (Construction under percent complete revenue recognition, and Manufacturing)

  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience required

  • Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures (GAAP and IFRS)

  • Previous supervisory experience preferred

  • Ability to work with a diverse team, and promote mentorship and professional development of staff

  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret financial reports and legal documents

  • Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community

  • Proficiency in MS Office Programs (Word, Outlook, Excel, Teams)

  • Proficiency in accounting programs (JD Edwards Preferred)

  • Hyland OnBase document software experience preferred

Education
  • Bachelor's Degree in accounting, finance, or another related fieldand at least 4-5 years of experience
