*Job Title*: HFC Specialist (Mid-Split Technology)
*Position Overview: *We are seeking highly experienced Senior HFC Upgrade Specialists to join our design organization and support large-scale upgrades of HFC architecture across multiple markets. This critical role focuses on mid-split and high-split technology implementation, optimizing network designs, and facilitating seamless collaboration with internal teams and external vendors. *Key Responsibilities:* * Technical Leadership: Lead HFC upgrade projects by applying expertise in mid-split/high-split technologies, ensuring designs align with strategic objectives. * Data Analysis and QC: Merge complex datasets from multiple sources, identify anomalies, and validate designs provided by external vendors (e.g., CommScope). * Production Funnel Optimization: Manage upfront processes to capture quick wins and streamline production. Evaluate nodes to determine whether cascade reductions, segmentation, or alternatives (e.g., QAM modulation, MPEG IV conversions) are required. * Vendor and Team Collaboration: Work closely with subcontractors, ISP teams, and the network consumption/utilization team to maintain alignment and ensure projects are on budget, on time, and satisfy SLAs. * Governance: Oversee budget adherence, run rates, and vendor performance while maintaining clear communication across stakeholders. * Capacity Management: Provide leadership in assessing, de-conflicting, and planning node upgrades to support multi-gig speeds and long-term network scalability. * Team Development: Mentor QC professionals to build foundational expertise within the team and ensure quality checks align with upgrade objectives. *Daily Expectations:* * Collaborate with network planning and design production teams to define and execute strategies. * Interact with ISP and Construction teams and analyze node data for segmentation and capacity planning. * Engage vendors to validate designs, optimize workflows, and explore cost-efficient alternatives. * Handle basic data manipulation tasks in Excel (e.g., merging large datasets, vlookups) and leverage GIS tools (ArcGIS, MapInfo) as needed. * Regularly report progress and governance updates to internal stakeholders. *Required Qualifications:* * Experience: Strong expertise in mid-split/high-split technologies, with prior experience in network designs used by Charter, Comcast, or Cox. * Technical Proficiency: Advanced knowledge of HFC design principles, basic Excel skills (e.g., merging datasets), and familiarity with GIS platforms (e.g., ArcGIS). * Leadership: Proven ability to drive projects, engage vendors, and mentor team members on technical processes. *Preferred Qualifications:* * Familiarity with virtual CMTS implementation strategies. * Knowledge of QAM modulation and MPEG IV conversions as alternatives to node splits/segmentation. * Strong problem-solving skills and ability to manage competing priorities effectively. *Work Arrangement:* * Positions available for remote work within the organization's 21-state footprint. * Flexibility for office-based collaboration when desired by team members. *Pay and Benefits* The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $45.00/hr.
