Job Title: Facilities Maintenance Technician

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM

On-Call Availability Required


About the Role

We're looking for a reliable and experienced Facilities Maintenance Technician to join our team! In this hands-on role, you'll be responsible for maintaining and repairing facility structures, equipment, and systems-including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and general building maintenance. You'll also collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to ensure our facilities are safe, functional, and running smoothly.

Key Responsibilities


  • Perform general building maintenance, including minor plumbing, drywall, painting, and carpentry repairs.



  • Conduct inspections of facilities and equipment; identify and report maintenance needs.



  • Troubleshoot and repair basic HVAC systems (rooftop units, exhaust fans, etc.).



  • Support remodeling and construction projects, working from blueprints or rough sketches.



  • Assist with the setup and repair of facility utilities required in manufacturing processes.



  • Create and manage work orders through the facility ticketing system.



  • Monitor contractor performance; ensure vendor work meets required specifications.



  • Maintain working knowledge of Building Maintenance Systems (BMS), access control, and surveillance systems.



  • Liaise with internal departments and external vendors to resolve maintenance issues.



  • Assist the Director of Facilities and Security with administrative support, including purchase requisitions, vendor invoices, and coordination of service providers (cleaning, cafeteria, pest control, etc.).



  • Participate in the Corporate Continuous Improvement and Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) programs.



  • Provide on-call/after-hours support for facility emergencies and urgent repairs.




Qualifications & Experience


  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent; trade school or relevant certifications a plus.



  • Experience: 3-5 years in a maintenance technician role, preferably within a manufacturing or production environment.



  • Technical Skills:




    • Familiarity with HVAC systems, plumbing, electrical, and general repairs.



    • Comfortable with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.



    • Understanding of facility management systems and work order tracking platforms.





  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to interact with employees at all levels, contractors, and vendors.



  • Independence: Able to work independently with minimal supervision.



  • Problem Solving: A proactive and resourceful mindset with the ability to troubleshoot issues quickly and effectively.




Physical Demands


  • Ability to bend, stoop, kneel up to 2 hours per day.



  • Push/pull and lift loads of 50+ lbs.



  • Standing, walking, and/or sitting for extended periods (up to 8 hours/day).



  • Manual dexterity for equipment handling and tool use.




Additional Information


  • Overtime may be required based on project needs.



  • Must be available for 24-hour on-call support.



  • Position requires occasional travel for vendor or facility coordination.
