Graphic Design Consultant

We are searching for an experienced Graphic Design Consultant.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

The Data for Implementation (Data.FI) project, within the Information Systems portfolio of Palladium Group, is a cooperative agreement funded by the U.S. Agency for International Development. It is implemented by Palladium, in partnership with JSI Research & Training Institute (JSI), Johns Hopkins University (JHU) Department of Epidemiology, Right to Care (RTC), Cooper/Smith, DT Global, Jembi Health Systems and Pendulum, and supported by expert local resource partners.

Data.FI is a global project that helps countries strengthen routine health information systems to optimize efficiencies in the health sector, track and rapidly respond to the HIV epidemic and emerging health threats, and improve client care through integrated, and flexible digital health solutions, data analytics, and institutionalized data use practices.

The project is seeking a part-time Graphic Design consultant.

Overall, the Consultant will assist the project to successfully complete all of its deliverables and respond to other communications needs. The consultant will also support other projects in the Information Systems portfolio and any other Palladium portfolio or project on an on-request and as-needed basis. Versatility and high-level responsiveness are required. Specifically, the consultant will:

- Design and format a variety of documents including technical reports, briefs, assessment tools, surveys, marketing and promotional materials, website content, and other project-related documents.

- Provide design support for Data, Informatics and Analytical Solutions (DIAS), including the Data.FI Project, and Business Development (BD) publications, including reports, briefs, and PowerPoints in compliance with donor branding guidelines and organizational policies.

- Format reports, briefs, work plans, and other materials in Microsoft Word, applying styles, ensuring that correct levels of heads and subheads are used.

- Carefully proof formatted publications to ensure that section heads and figure and table titles are mirrored accurately in the Table of Contents (TOC), where applicable, and that pagination in the reflects pagination in the document.

- Conceptualize, design, and develop infographics, charts, maps, and other visual content to translate technical ndings into user-friendly products for non-technical audiences.

- Assist with project visual communications and marketing strategies to amplify impact, consistent with client branding and marking requirements.

Required Qualifications:

8 years professional experience as a graphic designer

Deep familiarity with visual media, publication preparation, and other formatting work

Ability to work with tight deadlines and manage parallel assignments

Ability to work on documents quickly and efficiently

High degree of responsiveness to email

Excellent communication skills and ability to take and incorporate feedback through meetings and calls

Strong attention to detail, visual sense, and concern for balance and professionalism

Strong aptitude with Microsoft Office Suite, in particular Word and PowerPoint. WILLINGNESS TO WORK IN MICROSOFT WORD IS A MUST - the vast majority of our documents and materials are in Microsoft word.

Extensive experience working with Tableau or other similar design software.

Flexibility and willingness dealing with a workload that ebbs and flows

Preferred Qualifications
10 years or more of professional experience as a graphic designer

Experience preparing documents, visual media, and other materials in fields of social science, health, and/or digital technologies

Experience working for international development projects, especially USAID-funded projects and other global donors

High level of knowledge of digital health and global health

Friendly, team-first and can-do attitude

Hourly compensation, range of $60 - $80 USD
