Seasonal Precollege Academic Program Facilitator (Middle/High School)

Job Summary:

This Academic Program Facilitator supports the following Precollege programs in the Division of Continuing Studies (DCS): Summer Transitional Enrichment Program, Acceleration Learning Program, Wisconsin International Precollege Academy, Badger Summer Scholars Each program runs 8-12 academic courses per session with 12-16 students per class. The primary duties of this role are to serve as administrative support and instructional support. This role will circulate among various classes, support classroom management, and help provide communication between instructors, Educational Coordinator, and the Program Manager. The role will also support day-to-day functions of the program which could include supporting educational assistants, subbing for instructors, walking students to locations on campus, delivering supplies to classrooms, and other duties as assigned. Opportunities to provide some instructional coaching may also be possible.


Responsibilities:
Develops and instructs non-credit course sessions on a specific topic or within an area of expertise to provide continuing education opportunities to the institution and affiliated community.

  • 20% Instructs continuing education classroom activities and guides learning to align with existing curriculum
  • 10% Measures student performance and progress, utilizing assessment tools to align with established mission and philosophy
  • 10% Researches and selects curriculum content, designs courses, and prepares assessment tools regarding specific programs to align with unit objectives and strategy
  • 20% Collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to identify learning barriers and difficulties, develops solutions and aligns resources with student needs to support learner advancement academically
  • 20% Serves as a subject matter expert and communicates with program affiliates, students, and stakeholders providing information and answering questions based on curriculum materials and standards
  • 10% Observes classroom activities and communicates pertinent information to the program manager to facilitate efficient program logistics
  • 10% Assists with logistical, discipline, student safety, and supervision tasks as needed

Education:

Required
Bachelor's Degree
Successful completion of a full 4-year course of study in Education or content related field in an accredited college or university leading to a bachelor's or higher degree.


Qualifications:

Required Qualifications:

- 2 years of teaching experience with high school aged students preferred. Student teaching experience will be considered.
- Demonstrated ability to plan and deliver engaging content to high school aged students is preferred.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work well with students, administration, and support staff.
- Experience planning and modifying curriculum to meet the needs of all students
- Experience working with high school aged students

Preferred Qualifications:

- Expertise or Master teacher designation in a specific intellectual or talent area


Appointment Type, Duration:

Terminal, 2 month appointment.
This position has the possibility to be extended or converted to an ongoing appointment based on need and/or funding


Salary:

$8,070 LUMP SUM
Fixed

$8,070 total for 8 weeks. Lump Sum. June 9 - August 1, 2025

Pre-Post Program Schedule:
Hours flexible for onboarding and set up/take down tasks.
All Staff Orientation June 14th 1:00-4:00 p.m.

During Program Schedule: During the program:
Monday-Friday, 8:30am-4:30pm June 16 - August 1, 2025
Opening Days: 9am-5pm; June 16, June 23, June 30, July 20th
