Advertised Salary: $40,000 - $55,000. Salary commensurate with education, experiences, and other requirements.

Summary of Position: The Offensive Assistant Football Coach is responsible for assisting the Head Coach in recruiting, training, and coaching members of the football team. The Offensive Assistant Football Coach is required to abide by the rules and regulations established by the NCAA at the Division II level.

Position Type: Staff
Required Education: Bachelor's Degree.
Required Work Experience: One year of collegiate football coaching experience. A strong commitment to the student-athlete concept and a working knowledge of NCAA rules is required.

Previous experience coaching or playing in the GLIAC.

Additional Education/Experiences to be Considered: Would prefer a candidate to have playing or athletics related work experience here at Ferris.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities: Maintains knowledge and rules of the NCAA in all aspects as it relates to this position.
Recruits student-athletes and complete necessary compliance paperwork with regard to recruiting.
Assists in study hall or academic counseling sessions.
Maintain knowledge of coaching strategies.
Assist with pre/post workouts.
Provides academic/personal counseling of position players.
Compiles and reviews accountability sheets and visit with players on a weekly and monthly basis as needed.
Assists in preparation of game plan.
Assists with practice planning with other members of coaching staff.
Utilizes summer camp exposure as positive public relations work for the institution.
Knowledge of fundamentals and techniques of Football.
Reports directly to the Head Football Coach.
Responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of designated information.
Liaison to the Ferris State University Office of Housing and Residence Life
Coordinator of off campus housing for football student athletes

Operates university motor or personal vehicles safely while carrying out job responsibilities.
Demonstrates an understanding of diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging, especially in working relationships with students, faculty, staff, and community members.
Support, promote, and develop university student enrollment and retention initiatives.
Any other duties assigned within the position classification area.
Marginal Duties/Responsibilities: Football program liaison with Facilities Management.
Performs public relations work.
Performs fundraising activities.
Maintain recruiting expenses and enter in Concur.
Other job related duties as assigned by the head coach.
Represent Ferris State University and the Football program in a professional manner.

Skills and Abilities: Demonstrated successful experience working directly with people from diverse racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds
