STS Technical Services is hiring Avionics Installation Technicians in Grand Junction, Colorado. This is your opportunity to join a highly skilled team supporting avionics integration and electrical systems installation on corporate aircraft.
Position Summary
As an Avionics Installation Technician, you will be responsible for inspecting, troubleshooting, repairing, and installing complex electrical and avionics systems. This role requires a strong technical background and a commitment to high-quality craftsmanship in a fast-paced aviation environment.
Responsibilities
- Remove and install avionics panels, components, interiors, and wire bundles
- Perform repairs on avionics systems and electrical components
- Troubleshoot and evaluate avionics and electrical systems on corporate jets
- Stamp, bundle, and install connectors on new wiring harnesses
- Replace outdated wiring with newly installed wire bundles
- Conduct inspections and evaluations of aircraft systems and components
- Assist with aircraft movement and hangar stacking when required
- Maintain shop facilities, equipment, and tools
- Navigate electronic training, manuals, and maintenance databases
- Work independently or as part of a team on assigned projects
- Communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing
- Perform any additional job-related duties as assigned by leadership
Qualifications
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Avionics or electronics training preferred
- Valid driver's license for airline travel and/or passport preferred but not required
Experience:
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Standing for extended periods
- Routine bending, squatting, walking, and sitting
- Repetitive physical motion using hands and arms
- Ability to climb ladders and stairs and work in confined spaces
Supervision
- Reports directly to assigned Team Leader and Director of Maintenance
- May supervise other technicians on a project basis as assigned
Working Conditions
- Hangar environment with exposure to hot and cold temperatures
- Outdoor work during aircraft runs may be required
- Work may involve varied positions in and around aircraft
Equipment Used
- Personal hand tools (provided by technician)
- Pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical testing equipment
- Aircraft support equipment including tugs, lifts, stands, and jacks
- Crimpers, soldering irons, and heat guns
