We are currently seeking an exceptional Director, Application Development here at Incora.

The Director, Application Development is responsible for overseeing the application development function within the organization. This leadership role involves driving the design, development, and deployment of high-quality software applications that support the organization's strategic objectives. This individual will manage a team of developers, business analysts and others to collaborate with cross-functional departments, and implement best practices to ensure application stability, scalability, and innovation.

Key responsibilities:

  • Provides the vision and leadership for developing, implementing, and integrating tcmIS and HazCom platforms for the chemicals division.
  • This role is responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating product development and solution delivery activities.
  • Ensures deliverables are achieved and in line with the business goals.
  • Analyzes the needs of different service lines and industries within Incora chemical division and uses technical knowledge to help determine a solution to meet the business objectives, which could include modifying existing solutions or net new development activities as needed.
  • Ensures overall alignment of department activities to the business needs and advises the business on technology regarding overall goals.
  • Direct and ensure the implementation of operational policies through other managers, interact internally and externally with executive management involving negotiation of difficult matters to influence policy.

About You:

  • Ten years in software development, with five-plus years in management/leadership role
  • Proven experience leading positive changes, empowering people, cultivating product/technology visions and innovation solutions, and fostering effective architecture/technology and operational practices and culture.
  • Prior experience in leading architecture activities like designing, roadmap, and proofs-of-concept.
  • Extensive experience in web-based technologies like Java, Spring, JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML, REST API and complementary business layer and front-end technologies like AngularJS, ReactJs, NodeJS, etc.,
  • Strong experience with architecture styles like Microservices, Web-Queue-Worker, Event-driven
  • Experience with Java frameworks and libraries such as Struts Framework, Spring Framework or Apache Camel.
  • Experienced with Oracle Database, Apache Tomcat, DevOps practices and tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, OpenShift, etc.
  • Knowledge of version control systems like Git.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • You are a collaborative thought leader. You draw in diverse perspectives, both technical and non-technical, and you can convey technical things in a language your business partners can understand.
  • Experience with Agile practices such as Scrum, Safe, and Feature-Driven Development
  • Ability to succeed through collaboration and navigate through other internal and external organizations and individuals.
  • Ability to learn quickly and adjust to changing priorities while maintaining a positive, can-do attitude.
  • Successful project management skills, including the utilization of project management methodologies.

More About You:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field (master's degree preferred). A combination of relevant education and job experience to meet competencies of job function.
