Description

Are you an Excel whiz with a love for numbers? We're looking for a Financial Analyst to join our growing Corporate Accounting team. In this position, you'll have the opportunity to learn and support a variety of financial activities, including accounts receivable, investments, audit requirements, and financial reporting and analysis. You should have at least one year of accounting or finance experience and some knowledge of transactional reporting, for-profit accounting, or nonprofit accounting. This position is tailor made for you if you're curious, adaptable, and detail-oriented.

You'll be based out of our state-of-the-art headquarters in Madison, Wisconsin, and have a hybrid schedule, generally working in the office three days a week and remotely two days a week.


Job Responsibilities

On a day-to-day basis, you may do the following.



  • Accounts receivable activities, including processing invoices, monthly statements, journal entries, and reconciliations.
  • Investment activities, including complex schedules, journal entries, and board reports.
  • Internal and external audit requirements, including developing and reviewing compliance activities and required documentation.
  • Financial reporting and analysis, including board reports and grant reporting.
  • Banking transactions, analysis, and reconciliations.
  • Intercompany transaction reconciliations and payments.
  • General ledger activities, including preparing manual entries for the accounting system and reviewing monthly transactions.
  • Budget compilations and related projections, including cash and investments.
  • Special projects and related duties as assigned.


Knowledge and Skill Requirements

A highly qualified candidate will possess the following.



  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in accounting, finance, or a related field.
  • One to three years of accounting or finance experience.
  • Experience with automated accounting systems.
  • Knowledge of accounting and financial analysis techniques. Knowledge of grant accounting is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and VLOOKUPs.
  • Ability to understand processes and their impact on other teams.
  • Ability to work under time constraints and manage deadlines.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and think critically while maintaining a high level of productivity and accuracy.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Curiosity to learn new skills.
  • Ability to adapt to rotating team assignments.
