Global IS Department Manager for Strategy & Governance

In this role, you will play a pivotal part in shaping and driving the strategic direction and governance of IS Services on a global scale. This is a high-impact leadership position, where your experience in strategy management and governance within a complex, multinational environment will be essential.
This role demands a high level of engagement with senior stakeholders and requires a leader with a strong executive presence, structured thinking, and the ability to transform abstract concepts into actionable, practical recommendations. Your ability to inspire and influence across all levels of the organization will be key to your success.

You will be mainly accountable for:
*Definition, implementation, and continuous enhancement of the Information Systems (IS) strategy and governance framework to ensure strong alignment with evolving business objectives across diverse markets.
*Enhancement and maintenance of a scalable IS operating model that supports centralized governance while enabling effective decentralized execution.
*Influencing and structuring the execution of the strategic overview of the IS initiatives, striking a balance between global standardization and local adaptability
*Establishment and enforcement of the global IS policies, standards, and best practices to achieve consistency, efficiency, and compliance across all business units.
*Delivery of capabilities, solutions, and enhancements, while crafting forward-looking strategy roadmaps in line with strategic business priorities and technological advancements.
*Ownership and oversee of the lifecycle management of frameworks, processes, and models within your area of responsibility.
*Definition of the global function Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) sets benchmark key objectives and targets, and delivers results to ABB Group management and external stakeholders.
*Ensuring regular performance reporting and auditing of the function to uphold transparency, accountability, and continuous improvement.

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field.
• MBA or executive education in strategy, governance, or digital transformation is an advantage.
• 10+ years of senior leadership experience in IS strategy, governance, or enterprise-level IT transformation roles, ideally within a global, matrixed organization.
• Proven expertise in developing and executing IS strategies aligned with corporate objectives in multinational settings.
• Deep understanding of IS governance frameworks and regulatory environments, ensuring global compliance and operational excellence.
• Demonstrated ability to drive innovation, develop IS operating models, and translate strategic themes into practical, scalable outcomes.
• Exceptional skills in stakeholder engagement, executive-level communication, and influential leadership across diverse cultural and organizational boundaries.
