At our Irvine, CA office we are looking for a hands-on Data Scientist Intern to join our team. You will be involved in the development of data science models for the clinical diagnostic business. Your duties will include understanding the business need, developig a data science solution, and writing production-ready code.

How You'll Make An Impact:



  • Participate in team meetings to stay updated on projects progress and align with team goals.
  • Understand business requirements and convert them into effective data science solutions.
  • Collaborate with senior data scientists to understand the full data science life cycle from data collection and preprocessing to model development and deployment.
  • Maintain coding standards.
  • Assist team members with various tasks, contributing to the overall success of the projects.
  • Data Science and ML Model Development: Learn data science methodologies and ML model development the Bio-Rad way.
  • High Coding Standards: Implement best practices. Ability to learn and adapt quickly.
  • Technical Ownership: Own the data science project and ensure completion of assigned tasks.
  • Collaboration: Working closely with mentors and team members.
  • Presentation skills: Present work progress 3 times during internship, with a final presentation on overall work done at the end of the internship.


What You Bring:




  • Currently enrolled as an undergraduate (sophomore/junior) student pursuing a 4 year bachelor's degree in mathematics, computer science, data science, statistics, or equivalent field.
  • Must have a 3.0 cumulative overall GPA or better ( on 4.0 scale)
  • Knowledge of Data Science, Machine Learning, and Artificial Intelligence.
  • Experience in Python.
  • Experience with databases and SQL.
  • Cloud experience preferred.



Compensation: The estimated hourly range for this position is $25.00 per hour at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be provided in writing at the time of offer, if applicable, and is based on several factors we believe fairly and accurately impact compensation, including geographic location, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, and other job permitted factors. As a temporary associate, your employment will be managed directly through our approved agency provider.
