Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Security Engineer to join our dynamic Information Security team. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in protecting our organization's infrastructure, data, and applications from security threats. As a Security Engineer, you will be responsible for implementing, managing, and improving our security measures to safeguard our digital and physical assets.

The role of the Senior Security Engineer is to identify threats and vulnerabilities in systems and software architecture and resolve causes of security threats as well as prepare for potential threats that could disrupt operations. The Security Engineer will also test security systems and strategies to monitor effectiveness and improve performance. The Security Engineer will advise management on policies and procedures, report on any incidents and educate others to raise security awareness. Furthermore, the Security Engineer provides technology guidance, road maps, principles, standards, and best practices. This position requires working with different levels within the organization and partnering with vendors and solution providers outside the organization.

Key Responsibilities:



  • Security Architecture & Design: Develop, implement, and maintain robust security architectures, ensuring the protection of all systems, networks, and data.
  • Threat Detection & Response: Continuously monitor systems for potential vulnerabilities or threats. Investigate and respond to security incidents, minimizing damage and recovery time. Leverage Threat Intelligence tools to identify emerging threats and prevent or mitigate attacks
  • Vulnerability Management: Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and penetration tests and ensure the timely remediation of discovered vulnerabilities.
  • Security Policy & Procedure Implementation: Develop, update, and enforce security policies, guidelines, and procedures to ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices.
  • Incident Handling & Forensics: Lead the response to security breaches and attacks. Perform digital forensics to understand the root cause of incidents.
  • Security Tools & Technologies: Manage and optimize security tools and technologies such as firewalls, intrusion detection systems (IDS), anti-virus software, encryption, and SIEM platforms.
  • Collaboration & Training: Work closely with cross-functional teams to implement security measures across various departments. Provide security awareness training to employees to reduce the risk of human error.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay up to date with the latest security threats, trends, and technologies. Continuously evaluate and improve security processes and tools.
  • Participate in enterprise architecture reviews. Perform cyber security assessments of third-party applications and services


Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Proven experience as a Security Engineer or in a similar role within the IT security field with a minimum of 5 years of experience.
  • Strong knowledge of security protocols, cryptography, authentication, and encryption techniques.
  • Experience with security frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001, CIS).
  • Expertise in security tools, such as firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), SIEM, vulnerability scanners, and endpoint protection.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud security (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and virtualization technologies.
  • Proficiency in scripting or automation languages (Python, Bash, PowerShell) for security automation and incident response.
  • Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CEH, or CompTIA Security+ are highly desirable.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically and quickly under pressure.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex security issues to non-technical stakeholders.


Preferred Skills:



  • Experience with threat hunting and advanced threat detection techniques.
  • Knowledge of DevSecOps practices and securing CI/CD pipelines.
  • Familiarity with incident management tools.
  • Experience with security in a hybrid or multi-cloud environment.



Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $95,600 -147,600 Annualized

Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. Tennant Co. reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualifications of the selected candidate as well as internal and external equity.

Total Compensation = Base Salary + Benefits
