Job Title: HR Generalist

Pay: $60,000 - $75,000 salary/year
Position Summary:The Human Resources Generalist will provide support to the Human Resources function for the West Coast division. This role plays a critical part in the daily administration of HR operations for two entities, including onboarding, compliance, document management, leave coordination, and employee relations support.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Employee Onboarding:
- Schedule drug screenings and pre-employment physicals for new hires.
- Coordinate orientation sessions and track incoming documentation.
- Lead onboarding orientations, collect necessary paperwork, and ensure timely submission to appropriate departments.
- Provide training on HRIS and Time Keeping Processes.
- Develop and implement improvements to the onboarding process to enhance the new hire experience.
Leave Management:
- Serve as the point of contact for employees inquiring about leave policies, including FMLA, CFRA, ADA, and personal leaves.
- Coordinate documentation and communication between employees and management.
- Track and maintain accurate leave records, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Provide guidance and follow-up on return-to-work processes.
Employee Relations Support:
- Assist HR Manager with tracking and documenting employee relations matters, including investigations and disciplinary actions.
- Support HR in promoting a positive work environment and escalating concerns as needed.
- Escalate employee relations matter as needed
Document Management:
- Complete and maintain records for status change forms, separation forms, and California state-specific compliance forms.
- Ensure accurate documentation control and maintain employee files at the local level, ensuring all documentation is submitted to the corporate office.
- Assist in creating a centralized document repository to streamline access and compliance tracking.
Administrative Support:
- Be the first point of contact to answer HR and Payroll related inquiries for West Coast. Delegate to other departments or HR Manager accordingly.
- Provide support for various HR administrative tasks and special projects as assigned.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support organizational initiatives and enhance HR service delivery.
- Assist with employment verifications, unemployment claims, disability claims, and worker compensation data requests foremployees
- Support the HR team in issuing policies, monitoring completion, and staff compliance with policies.
Compliance Support:
- Assist with compliance audits, including MVR audits, I-9 audits, and driver's license audits.
- Maintain poster compliance across all West Coast locations and ensure all HR practices adhere to local and federal regulations.
- Collaborate with HR Manager to address and mitigate compliance risks.
Employee Engagement:
- Track employee birthdays and organize employee events to enhance engagement.
- Support initiatives to gather employee feedback and drive improvements in workplace culture and morale.
Minimum Education and Experience:
- AA degree required, Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field preferred.
- 2-3 years of experience in HR Generalist experience preferred.
- SHRM or PHR Certification preferred
- Experience with California Labor Laws, USCIS I9, and Leave of Absence Processes
- Experience with Human Resources Information Systems

Physical Demands:While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to manipulate, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to walk and talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment:Moderate noise typical of an office setting such as computers, printers, phone, and light customer traffic.While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts and outside weather conditions. The employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; high, precarious places and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
