HX5 is currently seeking a System Verification and Validation Engineer to join the team with NASA at Johnson Space Center (JSC).

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The System Verification and Validation Engineer will be:

  • Experienced developing test cases and test scripts for software verification efforts
  • Experienced integrating software from various vendors
  • Experienced with developing tests for dynamic physical systems
  • Experienced with data analysis and simulation techniques
  • Perform other duties as required

Education andExperience
This position has been posted at multiple levels. Depending on the candidate's experience, requirements and business needs, we reserve the right to consider candidates at any level for which this position has been advertised.

  • Typically requires a bachelor's degree in engineering and a minimum of 2- 5 years of experience in the field or in a related area
  • Experience working as part of an Integrated Product Team to develop and test high criticality software
  • Experience with highly autonomous systems
  • Experience with web-based collaboration tools Proficiency with C/C++ coding in a Linux environment
  • Experience with agile software development
  • Should be a quick learner and self-motivated
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and coordination skills and strong customer service attitude

Preferences

  • Proficiency with scripting languages such as Python
  • Experience developing software across the full development life cycle Knowledge of the NASA Gateway Spacecraft systems and software Experience with the following web-based collaboration tools- JIRA
  • Experience using software and programs such as Confluence, Slack, and SharePoint

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time position and offers a 9/80 work schedule (every other Friday off).

Work Environment:

  • Generally, an office environment, but can involve inside or outside work depending on task.
  • Equipment and Machines - Standard office equipment (PC, telephone, printer, etc.).

Physical Requirements:

  • Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods (90% of time).
  • May require lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs. (5% of time).

Other Position Requirements:

  • Proof of U.S. Citizenship or US Permanent Residency is a requirement for this position.
  • Must be able to complete a U.S. government background investigation.
