Job Description

Visa is the market leader in SMB payments. SMB payments are the fastest growing sector in B2B and represents a significant opportunity to capture cash and check.

The Head of SMB for LAC is responsible for driving vision, strategy, thought leadership, sales pipeline and client management of existing and new SMB Credit, Debit and Prepaid relationships. The SMB team at Visa for the US and Canada focuses on helping issuers, fintech's, processors and governments to enable their SMB clients to service and grow their business.

As a key member of the Visa Commercial Solutions LAC leadership team, the Vice President of SMB is accountable for defining the SMB Business strategy for LAC, deciding on where we should focus our people and resources to drive strategy, advocacy, and pipeline. You are responsible for the SMB sales pipeline, managing a team that drives revenue with existing clients and opportunities with new prospects. Advocacy and purpose are tantamount to Visa in the SMB community, therefore a sales leader with a clear vision and purpose driven strategy for our partners is important.

You will also be accountable to drive cross-functional collaboration for the execution of the LAC SMB strategy across key areas of the business including Commercial and Money Movement (Visa Direct, Visa Cross Border Solutions), Merchant Sales and Acquiring (MS&A), VAS (Value Added Services), Government Engagement, and CyberSource.

This opportunity requires an experienced leader with a deep knowledge of the SMB payment ecosystem across financial institutions, processors, enablers and Fintechs to drive the strategy and execution of our existing and future growth trajectory. The ideal candidate is an experienced senior business development and client relationship leader with the ability to inspire and motivate teams in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. She/He will have deep expertise in SMB products and services. In addition, the ideal candidate would have deep knowledge across SMB players in the fintech space to identify future clients, and future partners accretive to our product suite. The candidate should have proven experience developing and leading fast-paced teams.

This role requires sales acumen, strategy, innovation, collaboration, and creative problem-solving skills in a highly matrixed environment. She/He is omnipresent in the organization - hands-on, has an anything is possible attitude and thinks outside the box with a bias towards action, while also inspiring others with her/his vision.

As the SR. DIRECTOR of SMB LAC, you will:

  • Drive the growth, profitability, performance, and operation of Visa Commercial Solutions SMB in LAC. Manage the PL.
  • Develop and execute on a comprehensive SMB strategy for LAC to drive revenue growth, with a strong focus on SMB payment volume, related partnerships, and platforms.
  • Lead / influence a team of experienced sales and relationship professionals responsible for developing SMB opportunities from identification to close as well as expansion opportunities and account plans for existing clients. Manage RFP's and sales activity.
  • Develop a robust pipeline of significant opportunities providing regular reporting and insights back into the business.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities, establishing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders across a variety of industries not only limited to traditional issuers, but also to additional strategic partners such as Payment Facilitators, FinTechs, VCs, neo banks, processors and other enablement partners in the SMB ecosystem.
  • Be the thought leader for SMB - have a deep understanding of the competitive space, existing and emerging competitors. Drive presence at industry conferences and be the subject matter expert to external and internal stakeholders to deepen advocacy, brand preference and exposure.
  • Work collaboratively across the organization - working together across the Financial Institution Account Executives, CS, Product, Digital Partnerships, Government Engagement and the Global VCS team.
  • Build deep and trusted relationships externally with industry, clients, and ecosystem players to drive results.
  • Build strong relationships with Senior Visa executives and issuing clients and be able to influence and drive decisions at the executive level.
  • Communicate regularly with senior stakeholders, providing updates on sales performance and seeking guidance to enhance overall performance.

This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

*12 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor's Degree or at least 10 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters/MBA /JD/MD), or a minimum of 5 years of work experience with a PhD

Preferred Qualifications:

*15 or more years of experience with a Bachelor's Degree or 12 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, or MD), PhD with 9+ years of experience

*Seasoned leader with extensive industry and functional expertise, including sales, business development, contract negotiations, marketing, and sales.

*Proven success with sales, consultative selling, and management experience. Strong track record of success in managing, leading, and motivating high performing/ quality teams.

*SMB segment experience essential.

*Proven ability to implement strategic initiatives and operational decisions across matrixed organizations. Creativity and resourcefulness to overcome unexpected roadblocks.

*Ability to build strong relationships and enable collaboration with large cross-functional teams.

*Strong communication skills with the ability to negotiate and influence key stakeholders at all levels both internally and externally to Visa.

*Lead as the Visa Ambassador for SMB. Represent all things SMB at Visa. Challenge preconceived attitudes and behaviours and shape future thinking.

*Consistent record of having met challenging financial and business targets.

*Proven track record of driving innovation and leading change in successful top tier companies.

*Committed to building and inclusive and productive work environment through Visa's Leadership Principles.

*Fluent in Spanish and English, Portuguese a plus.

Additional Information

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel5-10% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 173,800.00 to 252,200.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity. Visa has a comprehensive benefits package for which this position may be eligible that includes Medical, Dental, Vision, 401 (k), FSA/HSA, Life Insurance, Paid Time Off, and Wellness Program.
