DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As an Accounting Associate, you will be reviewing annual financial reports (AFRs) filed by Pennsylvania local educational agencies (LEAs) to ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), the Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB), as well as public school code. It is essential to maintain an extensive working knowledge of these principles and standards in order to optimize effective processing and completion of duties. You will work alongside our diverse team to assist with special projects, upon request. Work also involves assisting with the design, updates, and tests of the Consolidated Financial Reporting System (CFRS) used to collect LEA AFRs. We are looking for someone who possesses excellent communication and networking skills, as you will be responsible for providing timely and high-quality customer service to LEAs via phone and email regarding questions from LEA personnel and reporting of data on the AFR. - Full-time employment
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
- Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) full-time, with occasional in-office days when work dictates such requirements. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg.
- You will be required to report to headquarters to pick up your equipment and attend periodic meetings at your expense. Telework is subject to change at any time.
- Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- A bachelor's degree in accounting; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training that includes 24 college credits in accounting.
- Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree/credits.
Other Requirements:
