THE POSITION
-
The Bureau of Animal Health and Diagnostic Services is on the lookout for a veterinarian who possesses specialized training in epidemiology and a strong enthusiasm for disease investigation to become a part of our team. In this role, you will collaborate with fellow veterinarians and animal health professionals within the Department to carry out investigations during disease outbreaks, as well as to implement strategies aimed at preventing and controlling diseases that significantly impact agriculture in Pennsylvania.

DESCRIPTION OF WORK
-
In this position, you will be responsible for carrying out tracing activities and conducting field investigations aimed at preventing, detecting, and eliminating hazardous transmissible diseases in animals throughout the Commonwealth. Your responsibilities will encompass managing epidemiological studies focused on significant diseases, coordinating grant funding efforts, overseeing surveillance testing and data collection processes, and offering guidance to both internal and external stakeholders regarding epidemiological investigations. - Full-time employment
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time up to 5 days per pay period. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office.

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
Special Requirement:
- Possession of a valid license to practice veterinary medicine as issued by a state Board of Veterinary Medical Examiners.
Other Requirements:
- PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
