24735BR Assistant Building Supervisor Fairfax High School Description Assists with the planning, assignment of personnel, and oversight/supervision of cleaning and maintenance activities in Fairfax County Public School (FCPS)-owned buildings; participates in cleaning and maintenance tasks. Qualifications Required Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school or possession of a General Equivalency Diploma (GED) certificate. Some experience at the custodian II level or equivalent. Must successfully complete the Custodial Certification Course prior to or within one (1) year of appointment. May be required to work an evening and/or night shift on a regular or rotating basis. Knowledge of custodial methods, equipment, procedures, and cleaning materials. Ability to train, assign, supervise, and inspect the work of assigned staff. Ability to understand and interpret written and verbal instructions. Ability to maintain records and prepare routine reports. Ability to recognize and report hazards and apply safe work methods. Ability to work cooperatively with employees, students, and the public. Ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing.
