Job Summary As part of the Prisma Health apprenticeship program for unlicensed assistive personnel, performs routine assistive tasks to assist the patient in their comfort and to meet basic patient needs. In this role, the team member will learn valuable skills to prepare them for future careers in healthcare. Accountabilities Assists patients with needs related to personal hygiene. Duties include, but are not limited to, bathing, washing hair, brushing teeth, and washing hands. Assists patients with needs related to ambulation after delegation from the RN. Duties include, but are not limited to, dangling, walking, walking with assistive device, toileting and implementing fall prevention measures under the direction of the Registered Nurse. Performs other administrative duties as requested. Provides directional assistance and Way-finding. Turns and repositions patients as directed by RN. Acts as a Courier/Runner to other areas of the hospital. Transports discharged patients or assists technician or RN with hospital transports. Performs other duties as assigned. Supervisory/Management Responsibility This is a non-management job that will report to a supervisor, manager, director, or executive.
