About The Position

The Project Cost Analyst provides project controls cost engineering support to Project Managers, project engineers, and other key team members. Assist in the development and monitoring of the Ameren Missouri project portfolio, project material forecasts, project category management, and annual department budgets, and long range plans.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Act as system owner for a high visibility, business-critical project management tool (Oracle Primavera Project Management or P6 Unifier).
  • Serve as the Subject Matter Expert for Ameren's portfolio and project management tools (Oracle Primavera Project Management and P6 Unifier), including granting / removing user access, working with Ameren Digital to resolve system issues, and managing and implementing system upgrades.
  • Gain understanding of the Ameren budgeting process by providing assistance with financial planning of projects, including financial analysis, project justifications, developing preliminary budget estimates with support from key stakeholders.
  • Gain understanding of business line project management processes and collaborate with stakeholders to identify and clarify business requirements for system enhancements to optimize business line processes and enhance system user experience.
  • Work closely with stakeholders to understand and support business needs. Build and leverage professional relationships to support efficient and timely resolution of user requests. Clear and concise communication to users at all levels of the business from request to resolution. Candidates must balance role requiring attributes of project controls team member as well as customer support.
  • Direct and own process/system changes, perform business process enhancement testing and review process changes to ensure design changes meet business requirements and system design technical requirements.
  • Align process mapping into development of business process modeling techniques.
  • Assist with updating cost and risk components. Manage project and program risk-based contingency, develop and deliver contingency reports to senior leadership monthly, and provide detailed analysis of variances to budget / target, and month over month variance analysis. Support changes to estimating tools based on updated material costs and lead times.
  • Perform project and portfolio analysis and reporting to align key stakeholders on significant project / portfolio risks, contingency, and compliance with budgetary targets. Support weekly material risk reports by working with stakeholders and vendors to identify material delays and cost changes.
  • Assist in developing long range material forecast based on input from stakeholders.
  • Support monthly project portfolio reviews with key stakeholders highlighting new project requests, risks / concerns meeting program / category budget targets, and portfolio contingency offset. Report variances and issues to project management and project controls leadership.
  • Develop basic understanding of Ameren project management procedures by working closely with Project Management staff to ensure alignment and consistent data between portfolio and project management tools.
  • Monitor and enforce standards, policies and procedures established by Ameren Missouri, Ameren Corporation and regulatory entities as required.
  • Assist in developing training materials and providing training for portfolio and project management tools.

Qualifications*

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university required. Four years of relevant experience (e.g., project controls, project management, or specific business segments projects, operations, maintenance, planning) may be considered in lieu of Bachelor's degree. Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business or Construction Management preferred. Relevant experience in estimating, budgeting, forecasting, software administration, project scheduling, project management, or portfolio management is preferred.

In addition to the above qualifications, the successful candidate will demonstrate:

Experience with applications such as UIP, PCM, PowerPlant, API, and Primavera P6, Unifier, and OPPM is preferred. Experience with Maximo, EMPRV, TRIS, PeopleSoft, and Microsoft Office Suite is preferred.

Knowledge of Ameren Missouri system and corresponding maintenance, operations and construction practices is preferred.

Ameren's selection process includes a series of interviews and may include a leadership assessment process. Specific details will be provided to qualified candidates.

Compensation Range:

$69,300.00 - $133,900.00

* This pay range encompasses multiple levels of the role. Career level and compensation depends upon applicant's credentials.

At Ameren, base salary is one component of a competitive compensation package for employees. Our pay ranges are broad to allow for movement within our organization and to accommodate different skill sets and levels of expertise. We take into consideration a variety of factors including, but not limited to, skills, abilities, experience, education, credentials, and internal equity when determining the base salary offered. Roles are eligible for additional rewards including annual incentive payments based on individual and company performance.
