Position Summary

Geost seeks a highly capable Electrical Engineer 3 who will be responsible for the implementation, maintenance, and support of product designs throughout the product lifecycle. This person will be architect and execute new product platforms. The role will involve circuit design, schematic capture, layout management, test, and debug. Designs are expected to follow current best practices for DFM, DFT, and reliability/quality, including adherence to relevant safety, regulatory, and certification requirements. This position will provide input to design and develop systems and products including ISO/AS maintained design environments and rugged environments associated with military or space vehicle platforms. The role will support the build of hardware for ground systems (fixed), vehicles (mobile), and spacecraft. The use of modern design tools will allow for successful execution of overall system architecture, circuit card design, and logic implementation with VHDL/Verilog.

The ideal candidate will possess experience in the design, fabrication, and test of electronics to support imaging systems, sensors, lasers, optical communication, and embedded processors. A strong background including architectural development, low level design of high speed, analog, and digital printed circuit boards will prove useful. Knowledge of schematic design and PCB design tools (i.e. Altium, PADS, etc.) as well as general experience with different communications buses is required.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Produce electrical concepts and designs for a wide variety of hardware and projects.
  • Work with Printed Circuit Board fabrication shops and vendors to complete fabrication of designs.
  • Support design execution through to successful integration and test.
  • Possess solid investigative and trouble-shooting skills to assess issues and develop resolutions in the lab and in the field.
  • Work proactively to complete tasks with some direction.
  • Communicate effectively with project management, customers, and team members across disciplines.
  • Support technical interchange meetings with team members and other project personnel then present to the organization in matters pertaining to project development.
  • Provide status on assigned tasks and schedules.
  • Provide support to technical and document reviews.
  • Manage time and resources to meet assigned deadlines.
  • Support failure review boards.
  • Support on-site work as needed.
  • Support travel or off-site work as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in electrical engineering.
  • An active U.S. Government Security Clearance or the ability to obtain a Clearance. Current SSBI is preferred.
  • Minimum of four years of design experience within electrical engineering, from requirements to production.
