Environmental Services Technician

Education

High school diploma required.

Experience

Minimum 1- 3 years of housekeeping/environmental services experience in a healthcare setting is preferred.

Skills

Communication, trouble shootings and problem-solving skills required

Basic computer skills preferred

Physical Requirements

Able to lift, carry, push or pull equipment, tools and materials, stoops, balances, climbs and kneels to gain access.

Working Conditions

Exposed to heat, wet, cold and noisy conditions

Exposed to blood and body fluids.

Conditions of Employment

If employed with the Hospice of Washington County, following 90-days of successful employment, one must begin the process for Pennsyvania state employment which includes Pennsylvania Access to Criminal History (PATCH) background check, Child Abuse Clearance, and fingerprinting.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

• Maintains the cleanest and safest environmental conditions possible for patient comfort as related to cleanliness, health, and sanitation at assigned locations.
• Performs cleaning of all staff, family and public areas, in accordance with OSHA and infection control standards, including removal and proper disposal of trash and waste. This also includes dusting, sweeping, buffing, mopping, and vacuuming areas in accordance with cleaning procedures, and also includes exterior of building and grounds.
• Performs preventive maintenance on equipment and other building needs, in accordance with schedules and building safety codes, regulatory requirements, and other state and federal regulations.
• Reports or assists with equipment needs or replacements.
• Assists with other facilities and maintenance requests, including moving and setting up, and for events, and other minor maintenance repairs.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Pay Range

Final salary offer will be based on the candidate's qualifications, education, experience and alignment with our organizational needs.
