Director, Data Science & Analytics

Essential Job Functions: The incumbent must be able to perform all of the following duties and responsibilities with or without a reasonable accommodation.

• Develop and own a holistic enterprise digital E-commerce analytic strategy, including strategic test and learn experimentations, means of access, and content distribution.
• Work with leaders across the organization to understand needs and pain points and build an evolution roadmap to meet those needs.
• Lead reporting for the ecommerce and executive team. Interface with executives to understand business focus and develop reporting to answer it. Drive proactive rather than reactive approach to answering business questions.
• Create and maintain analytical models to dive customers through the ecom funnel
• Partner with analytics teams across the organization to deep-dive and identify opportunities of improvement across the customer journey.
• Manage multiple projects and business stakeholders at a time.

Other Duties and Responsibilities

• Prepare information and make presentations to various audiences including executives, senior managers, and vendors.
• Attend important industry conferences to stay up to date on technology, e-commerce, and analytics trends.
• Model leadership behaviors to manage partners and business stakeholders. Serve as an effective advocate for change and growth.
• Establish and promote an organizational culture that encourages leaders to seek and formulate ideas and opportunities that increase efficiency and that improve cost control, loss prevention, customer satisfaction and company image. Ensure a culture that values and promotes collaboration between all stakeholders and business partners.
• Promote and support Petco's total reward strategy to motivate and retain partners by ensuring objective performance management, equitable compensation treatment, access to job related training, assistance with career development/planning, appropriate rewards and recognition and communication of strategy to reporting departments.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• MBA, Masters, PhD in Statistics, Applied Math, Economics, Computer Science or related fields.
• 8 - 10 years of work or experience in analytics and/or data science with an ecommerce focus.
• Deep understanding of retail business analytics domains.
• Experience using ecom data and analysis tools such as Adobe Analytics, Optimizely, Tableau, Looker, etc.
• Strong expertise in reading and writing SQL.
• High level of comfort with analytical approaches and quantitative methods to deal with very large datasets.
